BVA APPEALS

What is the usual wait time today, for a decision from the Board of Veterans Appeals?  My appeal has been there since April 2010.  Any imput is appreciated.

Excuse me, but that sounds ridiculous.  Haven't you contacted anyone, like a VSO or someone who can speed your appeal?  I always thought it would take atleast 2 or 3 years depending on the complexity....

It sort of depends on the claim. Mine was docketed 1996, went two BVA in 1998, part( uncomplicated part) decided 1999. Pretty fast for a claim. The complicated part docketed 1996 claim went 1998,...

Actually my "biggy" was total 3+ years start to finish with BVA. Docket 1996, went to BVA 1998, decision 1999. Those were the good old days. The other ones I mentioned were what I call the "smalls"....

 If the BVA remands your case back to your regional office for them to carry out certain functions ,like a C&P and as a claimant you disagree with their findings from the C&P and their (SSOC)...

The short answer is that it takes "as long as the VA WANTS it to take". Veterans for common sense says it takes 4 years to go to the BVA, but I filed an appeal in 2008 that has never even left the RO...
